5 Reasons Smart Families Are Preparing With The 72-Hour Emergency Axe Kit

1. Most Emergency Kits Fail When You Need Them Most (But This One Was Built Different)

Nearly 75% of older adults have no household emergency plan and about two thirds had never participated in any disaster preparedness educational program. But here's what's really shocking: most emergency kits on the market are designed to check boxes, not save lives.

2. Carry Less Than 5 Pounds - No More Back Pain

When an emergency breaks out, we want to put no extra strain on your back. We know older adults are at heightened risk for harm from disasters and many emergency kits weigh 20-30 pounds - making them impossible to actually use when you need them most.

We've heard "Emergency kits are too heavy for me to carry" too many times...

So we built an emergency kit with 262 tools that weighs under 5 pounds.

3. One Kit Protects Your Entire Family (262Pcs Survival Kit)

More than half of older adults (53%) thought they were likely to experience an emergency or disaster in the next year, yet most families either have no emergency supplies or expensive individual kits that cost $200+ per person.

The Traditional Approach: Buy separate kits for each family member = $600-1,200+ for a family

Our Complete Family Solution: One comprehensive 262-piece system designed for family use during the critical first 72 hours.

4. Ready When Disaster Strikes (FEMA Can Take Up to 3 Days to Reach You)

More than one in five adults age 50–80 (22%) had experienced an emergency or disaster in the past year alone. When disaster hits, you won't have time to gather supplies from around the house.

The Reality: After a major disaster, it may take up to three days for relief workers to reach some areas. During Hurricane Katrina, some areas waited over a week for help.

5. Peace of Mind That Actually Works (Validated by First-Responders)

Nearly 75% of older adults had no household emergency plan and over 60% had not participated in an emergency preparation program. Most people avoid emergency preparedness because it feels overwhelming and complicated.

The Problem with DIY Emergency Prep:

  • Endless conflicting advice online

  • Expensive trial and error with individual items

We like that it is in a backpack --it has been easy to move around to all the different vehicles for all the family's different activities. We like it especially for camping where we always seem to forget something. We dug into the pack for the ax to use the hammer part and have used a few of the band aids so far. We think this is good value for what it has, and just to have this kit all in one pack makes it easy to take along.

This is a pretty comprehensive back with a number of reasonably good quality supplies. Have used it a few times now, and in each scenario, I've found that I have exactly what I've needed already included in this kit. Shovel could be a bit stronger, but gets the job done for fairly small tasks, and does help with portability.

What makes camping so memorable is not the predictable, but the unexpected that keeps us going back. The items in this survival kit can help to make the unexpected safe. More than that, however, is the well-built backpack that makes carrying this kit on the trail so easy. The compass keeps us oriented, the 17” hatchet helps us with firewood, and the flashlight and lantern help us see in the dark. Above all, though, the generous first aid kit keeps us mended when things go wrong. For a survival kit of this size, it is competitively priced, and the company promises 24-hour support. This is a good buy.
